Importance
of masterizing practical tools for a better efficiency
 Computer
science
Masterizing computers as a tool (understanding of the
operating system, habit of shortcuts, masterizing Microsoft
Office software, masterizing emailling & websearching,
knowledge of the various common file formats including texts,
pictures, video, etc.) is a mean to deeply improve speed,
organization and overall efficiency. Computer science is not
only a tool to create documents but also, with internet, a
powerful search tool and promotion medium.
Languages
Knowing 3 languages, for instance in my case French (120
millions French-speaking people on Earth), English (450 millions),
and Chinese (900 millions), enable communication with 1,500
millions people, without counting the ones who are able to
speak one of these languages as a "second language"...
the majority of European can speak either English or French,
and in Asia I frequently communicated with Japanese and Korean
using Chinese. Moreover, language is the vector of the culture
of a country, it is the best mean to understand different
morals & customs and to adapt to the local market.
Methods
Projects efficiency often depends on methods. To apply a method
means to know a path to get your goal, but also to have the
flexibility to change this path if intermediary results show
that new more efficient paths can be taken. Method has to
be applied to every activity involved in a project, for instance
"Pay attention to details", "Criticize both
content & presentation", "To organize &
structure", etc. Moreover, every exercise like budget,
marketing plan, communication plan, rules, etc. has its own
methods. For instance, we can evocate Bottom-up & Top-down
approaches to estimate a budget.

"Es ist nicht genug zu wissen, man
muß auch anwenden; Es ist nicht genug zu wollen, man muß
auch tun."
"Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough,
we must do."

Johann Goethe. |
A quote I've seen signed by Bruce Lee... but Bruce Lee did litterary
studies and got inspiration from many philosophers. Anyway,
le very practical and pro-active meaning of this words should
never been forgotten. |
