Presentation:
Guanxi -- litt. "closed system" -- is a Chinese
concept meaning "relationships", "networking".
When studying and doing business in China, as most of western
people who discover the Empire of the Middle, I understood
the importance of guanxi in business affairs and economic
strategy of companies in China. Most of contracts, employments,
negotiations are signed thanks to relationships. This way
of behaving is natural in China and the ones who have the
best networks are the best.
My research:
After having a look to business affairs stratgegies in China,
it seems that the models used to analyze the market are the
same than the Western models, or Japanese models. No model
are presented as specifically Chinese. But one of the main
particularity of business in China is definitely guanxi. From
this remark, I tried to elaborate a strategic tool to study
guanxi. I did not translate my researches from French to English
yet, and the guanxi methodology is only available in the French
part of the site : here.
