   Strategy

Keys: strategy, tactics, war, ruse, manipulation, martial, to win, to defeat

Sun Wu Zi - Beijing Military Museum
Presentation:
Strategy is the art of coordinating actions to achieve a goal. It comes from ancient greek stratêgos, name given to the Army general in Athena. Strategy has to be distinguished from tactics. Tactics are the means to be used to reach a goal, it comes from greek taktikê.

My research:
I identify three categories of strategies:
Military strategy, dealing with the choices to make by an army in order to win a war or maintain peace.
It is composed of different specialties: naval strategy, air strategy, ground strategy, nuclear strategy, etc.
Economical strategy, dealing with the choices to make by a company to develop economically.
Economical strategy covers different aspects of companies life: search ofr new markets, competition, etc.
Martial strategy, dealing with decisions (reflexes) to make in case of a fight or attack by one or several opponents.
Martial strategy includes striking strategy, grappling strategy, fighting with weapons strategy, etc.

- "Si vis pacem, para bellum."
- "Let he who desires peace prepare for war."
cf. Flavius Vegetius Renatus
in De Re Military (~375 AD).

To be always ready for war, ready to go into the problems, is the only mean to avoid surprising attacks. For the fans of weapons, you'll notice here the meaning of the amunition type: "9 mm parabellum" (litterally "for preparing war")!
